Borel Swiss
About Borel
A Swiss manufacturer of furnaces and ovens since 1918.

Borel Swiss has been designing and building electric furnaces, kilns and ovens since 1918. We are one of the longest-established furnace manufacturers in Europe, serving the metal, heat treatment, melting, ceramics, glass, porcelain and pottery industries.
Our catalogue covers a complete range of standard furnaces, accessories and spare parts. When a project calls for a tailor-made solution, our engineering team designs and builds the equipment to your exact requirements.
Behind every Borel furnace stands a team of experienced engineers and technicians, supported by specialised workshops in refractory steel, heating elements and insulation. More than 25,000 furnaces have been delivered worldwide since 1918, with technical support available in your language.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why choose Borel?
- Manufacturing furnaces since 1918 makes us one of the longest-established builders in Europe. Add Swiss engineering and one of the broadest catalogues on the market, and you can see why over 20,000 customers across every continent rely on Borel for their thermal processing needs.
- Where are your products manufactured?
- All Borel furnaces are built in Switzerland or in Europe by long-standing partner workshops. Each unit goes through quality control and functional testing in our Swiss facilities before shipment. Our equipment is CE certified, with AMS and other industry-specific certifications available on request.
- Can I see a Borel furnace before ordering?
- Yes — our showroom in Porrentruy (Jura, Switzerland) displays more than 100 furnace and oven models. You are welcome to visit, and we can also arrange test runs with your own samples by appointment.
- Do you sell through distributors?
- We export directly worldwide from Switzerland, which means no intermediary margin. Every product comes with a one-year warranty and is repaired in our own workshops. When return shipping is impractical, we send replacement parts directly.
- Can a standard furnace be customised to my process?
Of course. Because we manufacture the equipment ourselves and keep all the materials and spare parts on hand, we regularly carry out modifications at customers' request — for example:
- Cutting access ports in a door or at the back of the furnace
- Changing the controller or adding chart recorders
- Upgrading the safety systems
- Injecting a protective or reactive gas inside the chamber
- Fitting an automatic door
- Adapting a load support
- Connecting the furnace to a SCADA or ERP system
- Building a custom ceramic or refractory-steel muffle
Adapting an existing standard furnace is almost always more economical than building a special furnace from scratch.

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified
